Concept design for a property undergoing a major renovation, designed by @chalk.architects

A large family garden in rural Wiltshire, designed to complement the architecture of the house, including a deep zinc canopy wrapping the southern and western elevations.

The design combines a strong architectural framework with naturalistic planting, including cast concrete terraces and connected spaces for dining, entertaining and family life.

The images include a visualisation of the dining area, the overall garden plan and a sketch exploring the formal hornbeam garden.

Concept Design for a large country garden.

Under stained timber arches, gravel walkways traverse the garden, linking upper and lower areas. The arches are decorative yet functional, creating intimacy and enclosure as clients move through the space.

In collaboration with @walmsleyshawltd I’m currently working on the master plan for a very special property here in Bristol, a stand-alone Georgian villa with a wrap-around garden. Construction is due to begin this spring, and I can’t wait to see it take shape.

In the meantime, I’d love to share this mood board. The client requested that I avoid light blues and light purples in the scheme, and I’m so pleased with the direction the palette has taken as a result.
